Cross-head Extruded Coating System

INTRODUCTION

Cross-head Extruded Coating System is using the process of heating and melting to coat high density polyethylene smoothly and tightly onto the specific steel pipes to be protected.  The extruded coating  is able to protect pipeline against impact, friction, shock, chemicals and ensuring strong enough coating during construction. The equipments of the coating system include external surface preparation and cross-head extruded 2-layer (Adhesive/PE) or 3-layer (FBE/Adhesive/PE) coating

  • Pipe diameter: 3/4" to 16" (Larger sizes available upon order)
  • Pipe thickness: 2.9mm to 21.4 mm
  • Pipe length: 6 meters to 12 meters
  • Pipe weight: 2,500 kgs (max.)

PIPE TOLERANCE SPECIFICATION

  • Tolerances on the external diameter should not exceed 4%
  • Out of roundness should not exceed 1% of t he nominal pipe diameter
  • Out of straightness should not exceed 1mm per linear meter pipe length
  • Total out of straightness should not be more than 0.2% of the total pipe length
  • No cracks on pipe surfaces
  • No paint, oil, or grease on pipe surface

CLEANING AND COATING SPECIFICATION

  • CNS 13638 or JIS G3469
  • The external steel pipe surface should be abrasive cleaned to SSPC-SP6 or NACE TM-01-70#3 or Swedish Standard SA2.5 TM01-75#3
